1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using HogPocket (the "App") or visiting hogpocket.app (the "Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and HogPocket ("we," "our," or "us").

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not download, install, or use the App. If you are accessing the App on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

2. Description of Service

HogPocket is an iOS application that enables users to connect to their own PostHog analytics instances and view analytics dashboards, events, funnels, feature flags, and related data from a mobile device.

HogPocket is an independent, third-party application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to PostHog, Inc. "PostHog" is a trademark of PostHog, Inc. Any use of that name in the App is solely for descriptive purposes to identify the service with which the App is compatible.

The App requires a valid PostHog account and Personal API Key to function. We do not provide PostHog accounts or analytics infrastructure — that is provided by PostHog, Inc. directly.

The App is provided in two tiers:

  • Free Tier: Core features including dashboard viewing, event browsing, and connection to one PostHog account.
  • Pro Tier: All Free Tier features plus unlimited accounts, advanced query views, custom alert thresholds, offline mode, and priority support. Available via subscription (see Section 4).

3. Account & API Keys

3.1 PostHog Account

To use the App, you must have a valid PostHog account in good standing with PostHog, Inc. You are solely responsible for maintaining your PostHog account and complying with PostHog's own terms of service. We are not responsible for any issues arising from the suspension, termination, or modification of your PostHog account.

3.2 Personal API Keys

The App uses Personal API Keys that you generate from your PostHog account settings. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for generating, maintaining, and securing your Personal API Keys.
  • We do not validate, verify, or store your API keys on our servers. Keys are stored locally on your device only (see our Privacy Policy).
  • You must not share your Personal API Keys with unauthorized parties. If you believe an API key has been compromised, you should immediately revoke it from your PostHog account settings.
  • All actions performed through the App using your API key are your responsibility. The App acts on your behalf and with your credentials.

3.3 No HogPocket Account Required

HogPocket does not require you to create a separate account with us. You access the App solely through your PostHog credentials. This means there is no HogPocket username, password, or profile to manage.

4. Subscription Terms

4.1 Pro Subscription Plans

The Pro tier is available through Apple In-App Purchase on the following terms:

  • Monthly Plan: $9.99 USD per month
  • Annual Plan: $79.99 USD per year (equivalent to approximately $6.67/month, saving roughly 33% compared to monthly billing)

Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region due to App Store local pricing. The price displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase is the price you will be charged.

4.2 Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for the Pro subscription. If a free trial is offered, the terms of the trial (duration and features included) will be displayed clearly before you subscribe. At the end of the free trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial period ends.

4.3 Auto-Renewal

Pro subscriptions are auto-renewable. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current subscription period. Subscription fees are non-refundable for the current subscription period except as described in Section 4.5.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to Pro features until the end of the paid period; after that, your account will revert to the Free Tier.

4.5 Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple per their standard refund policy. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly. To request a refund, please use Apple's Report a Problem page or contact Apple Support.

4.6 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of the next subscription period following the date of the price change. Apple will notify you of price changes in accordance with their policies. Your continued use of the Pro subscription after a price change constitutes your acceptance of the new price.

4.7 Feature Changes

We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features available in the Free or Pro tiers at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes in advance.

5. User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree to:

  • Maintain a valid PostHog account in good standing with PostHog, Inc. and comply with PostHog's own Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Keep your Personal API Keys secure and not share them with unauthorized parties.
  • Use the App only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use or enjoyment of the App.
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App.
  • Not use the App to transmit any unauthorized advertising or spam, or to conduct any unauthorized scraping of PostHog data.
  • Not attempt to circumvent or bypass any subscription-gating mechanisms or other technical restrictions in the App.
  • Ensure that any use of the App complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, including privacy laws regarding the analytics data you view through the App.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Property

The App (including its design, code, graphics, user interface, and all content produced by us) and this Website are proprietary to HogPocket and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All rights, title, and interest in and to the App and Website are and will remain the exclusive property of HogPocket.

These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on iOS devices that you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business use in accordance with these Terms.

6.2 Third-Party Trademarks

"PostHog" and the PostHog logo are trademarks of PostHog, Inc. We use these marks solely to describe the third-party service with which our App is compatible. Our use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by PostHog, Inc.

"Apple," "App Store," "iOS," and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. These marks are used solely for factual reference.

6.3 Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App ("Feedback"), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, and incorporate that Feedback into the App or our services without any obligation to you.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs
  • The data displayed in the App (which is fetched from your PostHog instance) will be accurate, complete, or current — accuracy of analytics data depends entirely on PostHog, Inc. and your own implementation
  • The App will be compatible with future versions of iOS or future PostHog API changes
  • The App will meet your specific requirements or expectations
  • Any errors or defects in the App will be corrected

Your use of the App is at your sole risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL POSTHOG MOBILE, ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data or corruption of your PostHog analytics data
  • Business decisions made in reliance on data displayed in the App that proves to be inaccurate or incomplete
  • Loss of revenue or profit resulting from PostHog downtime, API changes, or App unavailability
  • Unauthorized access to your PostHog account resulting from compromise of your API key outside our control
  • Any other matter relating to your use or inability to use the App

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

9. Termination

9.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. If you have an active Pro subscription, you should also cancel it via Apple's subscription management to avoid future charges (see Section 4.4).

9.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if required to do so by law. Grounds for termination include, but are not limited to:

  • Attempting to circumvent subscription-gating or copy-protection mechanisms
  • Using the App in a manner that violates applicable law
  • Engaging in conduct that is harmful to other users, us, or third parties

9.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11) will survive.

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with or depends on third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their own terms and conditions, which you are responsible for reviewing and complying with:

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party services. Any issues with PostHog's API, data accuracy, or account access should be directed to PostHog, Inc.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you may also have the right to bring claims in the courts of the EU member state in which you reside.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed from these Terms if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.

The failure of HogPocket to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of future enforcement of that right or provision. A waiver of any term will only be effective if in writing and signed by an authorized representative of HogPocket.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Post a notice in the App on the next launch following material changes
  • For material changes that affect your rights, provide at least 14 days' notice before the new terms take effect

Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App and cancel any active subscriptions before the effective date.

We recommend you review these Terms periodically. The most current version will always be available at hogpocket.app/terms.
